The applied kinesiology (AK) technique uses muscle testing as a method of bio-feedback to identify imbalances in the body's energy system. AK targets the source of blockages in the body's energy flow and weakness in the neuromuscular system. Once the blockage and weaknesses are "corrected" through a series of light touches, the body's own healing system restores homeostasis. In this balanced state, horses experience alleviation of pain, stress, and postural imbalances, thereby supporting the body's innate healing abilities for optimal performance and recovery. This therapy is unique among equine bodywork and can benefit both horse and rider as a team.
Rather than treat specific symptoms, conditions, or ailments, applied kinesiology restores the optimal functioning of various systems in the body. However, in many cases, an applied kinesiology session resolves what you or your horse may be experiencing.

If you are seeking treatment for a specific condition, please consult with your veterinarian or other medical professional.

This is a horse with an inflammatory condition in the hooves (navicular) before treatment. The areas of red indicate inflammation.

After one 30-minute treatment, the areas of inflammation had decreased significantly, now showing only as a mild orange color.
This is the same horse that is pictured in the thermography photographs above. Prior to any treatment, walking was visibly painful due to navicular.
After her first treatment, the horse's strides had lengthened and she was clearly more comfortable walking.
"Applied Kinesiology is a diagnostic and therapeutic discipline that combines knowledge of muscle and nervous system function with biochemistry, anatomy, neuroanatomy, nutrition, cellular physiology, and other biomedical fields. It can be described as functional neurology, providing a means to detect and correct a wide range of neuromuscular functional abnormalities stemming from previous injury or nutritional, biochemical, metabolic, or emotional factors."

" Utilizing muscle testing as a means of communicating with my animal patients has proved to be the single most important tool I use in helping them regain their health. We can evaluate their neurological, nutritional, allergic, acupuncture and cranial-sacral status in just minutes. I can test them and then employ a therapeutic correction of some sort and then immediately recheck them to see if my therapy was appropriate and effective...With AK my results are much quicker because I am not “ slapping at gnats”; I’m getting at the most important aspect of the animal’s imbalance."
